Responsibilities:

• Providing Legal support across the Group, assisting in the prioritisation of resources to ensure that the Legal Team’s activities support/target the business’ key objectives and priorities and material legal risks
• Managing Associate Legal Counsel within the Legal Team, and providing support and supervision of junior members
• Providing support to Group Legal Counsel on project based/strategic work, liaising with key business colleagues to achieve early visibility of, and provide input into the planning stages of, business initiatives & projects and issues
• Negotiating, reviewing, drafting and advising on key/high value commercial contracts
• Managing the business’ template terms and conditions and contract documents
• Managing litigation with external advisors
• Working with Governance, Regulatory & Compliance to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and contractual requirements, including preparation of policies and template documentation, and maintenance of the business’ data processing records

What we are looking for:

• Ability to produce effective, high-quality and commercially pragmatic legal advice to the business
• Adaptable and flexible, with an ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks and prioritise matters in alignment with the business’ strategic objectives
• Ability to draft and successfully lead negotiations on complex, high value, contracts and agreements
• Ability to deal with complex legal issues/ good problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Good leadership skills with an ability to manage relationships and develop Team members’ expertise and talents, enhancing the Team’s value and contribution to the business and their personal professional development
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams, the business’s senior leadership and relevant stakeholders, inspiring trust and confidence in others
• Ability to build strong and long-lasting relationships with business stakeholders
• Proactive and self-motivated
• Good organisational and project management skills
• Ability to lead and take responsibility and ownership of issues/matters as well as being able to work as part of a team
